Welcome to the Rockford Health Council

2011 County Health Rankings Released
The 2011 County Health Rankings, a collaboration between Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, have been released. Winnebago County’s overall health rankings remained about the same as last year with health outcomes in the third quartile of Illinois counties (#73 out of 102 counties). Originally founded in 1982 as the Rockford Council for Affordable Health Care, the Rockford Health Council (RHC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote better health for the residents of north central Illinois.  
MISSION
RHC exists to build and improve community health in our region, through education, action and advocacy.
VISION
RHC will be a catalyst for collaboration to assure a healthy community with access and quality care for all.  
VALUES
A policy-based organization providing advocacy and education to address key community health issues, RHC comprises the collective exptertise of leaders in health care, as well as community leaders whose policies and positions are supported by empirical data and research.  
CORE PRINCIPLES
• Provides a community forum where members address health issues through multi-sector collaboration.
• Has established focused priorities that support the mission of the organization and meet the needs of the community.
• Supports the priorities with well-defined goals and measurable outcomes.
• Has a realistic financial plan for long-term financial stability.
