YouTu be or Not tuBe?

That is the question.

Should you consider adding a YouTube channel to your marketing campaign? Here’s the Pro’s and Con’s.

PROs

  1. Increased Exposure. YouTube currently has 2 BILLION views per day. Even with a million to one odds that means you could reach a potential 2000 viewers.
  2. Picture’s worth a thousand words. If you have a 2 minute video with 30 frames per second that’s 3,600,000 words!
  3. Increasing audience. In the last 30 years the number of people watching the news and TV has dropped by 50%. What are they doing? They are on the Internet instead.

CONs

  1. Increased Exposure. If you really don’t want people to know about your business or what you do or how happy your customers are don’t bother to consider YouTube. Increasing the awareness of your product or service could only bring new potential customers.
  2. Picture’s worth a thousand words. Potential customers might actually understand what you do. You may not want them to.
  3. Increasing audience. You can spend your money on “traditional” advertising avenues like TV that has 50% of the audience it had 30 years ago. You can leverage, negatively, your advertising dollars to reach increasingly fewer customers. What a bargain!

The techs at the cyber wigwam have put together a new series of classes for 2011 that help introduce you to YouTube. And just like the Social Media marketing framework, Social Media Bloggerfly, you can now be a You Too Bee with a new 4-class series focused on YouTube. The new series of classes are scheduled to start in February, 2011. Stay tuned to a YouTube channel close to you!

Facebook URLs – A quick way to Facebook branding

Tired of that long, goofy URL for your Personal or Fan page in Facebook? You’re in luck. A new capability allows you to create a “vanity” URL to help reinforce your brand identity. With Facebook user names you can now use familiar words to define your facebook.com/xxxxxx brand identity instead of the functional but ridiculously long URL of old. The capability exists for both Personal and Fan Pages. It is really simple. First, log in to your Facebook account. Then you can go straight to the Facebook page for usernames by clicking here.

Learn how to easily reach those potential clients out of the 1.8 billion users on the Internet. See how your social media tools can get people to know, like, and trust you while you sleep!

How to make an email Hyperlink – Easy as Pie?

Did you ever want to have a hyperlink that emailed to you? Did you ever want an email hyperlink in your  Wordpress post or page?

If you did you’ve come to the right place. This need came up during the Social Media Marketing class. Our Chief Blogger studied it and found an even easier way (Rita was on the right track). So rather than make detailed intstructions, he went to the cyber-wigwam and made a video. He’s not starring in it but it’s a screen capture video so you can play it and replay it as many times as you like. It is REALLY, QUITE EASY!!! Check out the video or click on the Chief. By the way, in the meantime we’ve added a VIDEO tab to the main navigation so you can visit often for other short tutorials.

Gravatar, Oh Gravatar

A what did you say?

The Globally Recognized Avatar or Gravatar is a universal logo supported by all the bloggers in the WWW universe. A gigantic catalog of icons or logos that is keyed to your email helps identify you as you blog or comment on other people’s blogs. You can easily set up your Gravatar in the settings page of a wordpress.com blog. Or, you can go directly to gravatar.com. Canadian Christine McIvor has a neat little YouTube video that describes the process – Click Here.  She doesn’t get into a lot of detail about uploading the image but if you need help you can contact chiefblogger@tpmtech.biz. She does have an extensive series of video tutorials on a wide range of topics including blogging and social media. Check out Christine’s site here.
